Why would a furniture shop need a blog?
Writing a blog has been on my mind for a while, I have never done it because I thought no one would want to read a blog about a small furniture shop, and I am probably right in that regard haha!
However, the idea has persisted, so in the interest of generating new content for the Google Algorithms, I have decided we will give it a go.
Our first blog is short, but explains why we do in fact need a blog!
1. Build a better relationship with our customers
- We are a small company from a small town, we like to build relationships with our customers that will hopefully last years, but as the company grows its getting harder to maintain that level of intimacy, I am hoping a blog is a way we can “keep in touch” with our customers on a deeper level than a quick Instagram post.
- The more information you have about us the better informed you are to decide if we are the right company for you. After all, buying furniture is a big deal, its often a considerable amount of money, and the furniture will be with you for years and years, its important you trust us and feel comfortable with the way we do business, I’m hoping this blog will give you an insight into who we are.
- As we try and grow our business online we are marketing ourselves to potential customers who have never even heard of us, let alone been in one of our shops. I think it can be difficult to gauge a business just from a website alone, so we want to share as much as we can, lifting the curtain and letting people know what we are about. We want your expectations to match our offering.
2. For Ourselves
- We are often discussing interesting things about our work amongst ourselves, like our intentions for the future or any challenges we are currently experiencing. As the company grows with ever more employees (16 now) split across 2 locations I’m hoping a blog is a way for everyone at Pieces for Places to be involved in those conversations. And who knows the odd customer might find some of it interesting as well.
- I have often been advised to keep a diary, apparently, it can help with lots of things like tracking progress, getting things straight in your own mind, reducing stress and anxiety, and setting goals. I think this blog will probably be a type of Journal for the company so maybe we will get some of those benefits. Let's find out.
So there you go, now I have justified why we need one, I can get on with it. Next instalment coming soon.
Kind Regards
Jack
